According to Hannaford (1995), to ‘pin down’ a thought, there must be movement. Movement supports thought. Learning is ubiquitous. It entails the building of skills, and skills are built through the movement of muscles. In medicine, art, music, and science, competence in these and other professions develops through intricate internal networking among thought, muscles, and emotions. (p. 98)

Brain Gym provides educators with strategies including kinaesthetic techniques that allow students to use both the right and left sides of their brain. Movement and physical activity is necessary for an individual’s learning process (Blakemore, 2003).

BACKGROUND

I am an experienced teacher with vast international experience. For over 30 years I've worked at various schools in the primary and secondary sectors. I pride myself on my innovative and advanced concepts in the field of education. Including a daily dose of Brain Gym which has proven to be highly effective in my classroom.

My motivation comes from sharing success stories of using Brain Gym in the classroom. I love having the opportunity to cultivate and promote movement, well-being and learning with people of similar mindsets. Hopefully, Brain Gym will find a place to grow the student's love for learning and become a way of life rather than simply a positive outcome of education. When the teacher and students feel good about themselves, physically and emotionally, the day can only go well.

Brain Gym has considerably enhanced my physical health, mental perceptiveness, relationships, and performance at work, as well as my ability to be emotionally engaged with myself and with others.

SPECIALTY

I strongly advocate and infuse Brain Gym to break the "culture of silence" (Smart Moves), promoting cooperative learning, and creativity, enhancing critical thinking as well as integrated teaching methods and combining it with the traditional skills, concepts and values so close to the hearts of all loving parents and inspiring educators. My areas of expertise include learning challenges and researching more effective ways to help children learn and feel good about themselves.

Infusing Brain Gym movements in the classroom to break the "culture of silence."
