Helma Dalton Location: Email: North Shore, Auckland helmadalton@orcon.net.nz Mobile: Phone: Website: 021 128 5692 (09) 479 3727 http://www.focustherapy.co.nz < Return BACKGROUND I trained as an Occupational Therapist (OT) over 25 years ago in the UK. Since then, I have worked in hospitals, schools and a private clinic, mostly in Paediatrics. For the past 12 years I've worked from my home practice - Focus Therapy , located on the North Shore of Auckland. I combine my skills in Occupational Therapy and Brain Gym / Educational Kinesiology to achieve results with my clients. I also work with additional modalities such as Touch for Health, Sabotage Clearing, Rhythmic Movement and Colournostics. MY SPECIALITY I love working with people of all ages to address challenges they experience, so they can make the changes they desire. When working with younger clients, I particularly value supporting parents/caregivers in their vital roles so they can feel empowered to work with their child as a team. Besides working with developmental challenges, I also address the learning, behavioural and emotional challenges one experiences. Stress, anxiety and low confidence are also commonly experienced by my clientele. The source of many challenges can often be linked back to early development and our reflexes. Specific exercises are chosen for a client to practice at home so that new patterns and functioning can develop and become stronger, thus giving the brain and body a second chance. As a consequence, dramatic improvements in functioning can take place. CLINICAL SESSIONS I run my clinic from home, where initial session usually runs for one and a half hours and subsequent visits one hour. Clinical sessions can also take place online, should this be your preferred option. Perhaps because a client lives at a great distance, or parents would like to discuss challenges they and/or their child are experiencing, without the child being present. I'm very passionate about my work and love seeing my clients make great progress when working together as a team. Please get in touch to discuss how I might be able to help you.
